Demand cheddar benefits
According to reports, New York Citys subway rats have officially unionized, demanding cheddar-based benefits, hazard pay for track dodging, and a ban on TikTok teens chasing them with ring lights. The “Transit Rodent Workers Local 212” has already filed paperwork, with spokesrat “Cheddar Joe” declaring: “We built this system, one pizza slice at a time.”
Commuters are divided. Some cheer the rats for finally getting fair wages, while others complain about being outnumbered at MetroCard machines. A trial negotiation session ended when a rat chewed through the microphone cord, claiming “management silence.”
TikToks #UnionRat trend scurries: clips of rats wearing tiny hard hats, pranksters staging fake picket lines with rubber rodents, and one viral video of a rat dragging an entire bagel as union dues. Subway musicians even wrote a protest song titled “We Squeak for Justice.”
Tabloids gnawed at the story. The Post yelled: “SQUEAK AND DESTROY.” The Daily News countered: “RATS DEMAND RIGHTS.”
Mayor Adams said: “Every worker deserves dignity, even furry ones.” Governor Hochul muttered: “If Albany tries this, Im banning cheese subsidies.”
