Statue of Liberty Tests Drone Security

Finally swats tourists back

Lady Liberty is tired of the selfies. According to reports, the statue has deployed drones to patrol her crown, torch, and base, zapping tourists who climb too close with gentle but humiliating airhorn blasts.

“She’s not just a statue—she’s an icon with boundaries,” explained one Park Service employee. The drones also stream live video to TikTok, ensuring that every trespasser becomes instant viral content under #LibertyZap.

Reactions have been fiery. “I paid $40 for this ferry, I deserve a selfie on her shoulder!” whined one tourist before being chased off by a buzzing drone named “Patriot-7.” Locals cheered, claiming it’s about time the statue defended herself from cruise ship crowds and rogue influencers in hoop skirts.

Tabloids lit up. “DON’T TREAD ON ME” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “LADY DRONES THE FREE.” TikTok exploded with Liberty dance remixes set to buzzing noises.

Mayor Adams called it “a model for crowd control citywide.” Governor Hochul promised to regulate drone behavior but admitted “a little zap never hurt anybody.”

For now, the Statue of Liberty stands taller than ever—mainly because her drones won’t let you get too close.
