Bubbles meet bubbly
Dirty socks just got fancier. According to reports, a laundromat in Queens now doubles as a champagne bar, allowing locals to sip Moët while watching their underwear tumble. Wash cycles pair with curated wine flights for maximum elegance.
“Its about elevating the spin cycle,” said the owner, polishing flutes behind the dryer row. Patrons can order mimosas during rinse mode and prosecco for permanent press. Influencers flock here to post boomerangs of champagne popping next to lint traps.
Reactions are effervescent. “I actually look forward to doing laundry now,” said one Astoria resident. Others worry the combo will lead to accidental bleach-champagne cocktails. TikToks #SpinSipChallenge features creators attempting to fold fitted sheets while tipsy.
Tabloids fizzed. “SUDS & BUBS” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “TIPSY TUMBLE.”
Mayor Adams toasted the venture, calling it “the champagne of laundromats.” Governor Hochul warned against mixing Tide Pods with cocktails, though admitted its “a strong branding move.”
For now, Queens is the only borough where laundry day doubles as happy hour.
