Finally lives up to Boulevard of Death name
Queens Boulevard, long nicknamed the “Boulevard of Death,” has unveiled a futuristic moving sidewalk. According to reports, pedestrians now glide past traffic jams while cursing slower riders hogging the left lane.
“Its like the airport, but with more honking,” said a local grandma who managed to hit 3 mph. Each walkway includes built-in snack stands selling dollar slices and Gatorade. Tourists keep tripping when they try to Instagram mid-ride.
Reactions are brisk. “I finally got to work in under two hours,” bragged one Queens commuter. TikToks #SidewalkExpress trend shows influencers racing while shouting “OUTTA MY WAY.”
Tabloids sped in. “WALK THIS WAY” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BOULEVARD BOOST.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “a game-changer for pedestrian equity.” Governor Hochul warned that if someone rollerblades on it, chaos will follow. Spoiler: it already has.
