According to reports, Central Park has installed “Wi-Fi trees” disguised as oaks, giving joggers free internet under the guise of nature. Locals are thrilled to stream Netflix while pretending to birdwatch.
One teen bragged, “I finally saw a raccoonin 4K on YouTube.” Another tourist FaceTimed under a maple, calling it “peak organic tech.”
TikToks #WiFiTree trend shows influencers hugging routers disguised as bark. A viral clip caught a squirrel climbing the fake tree and unplugging the citys signal mid-Zoom call.
Tabloids connected. “TREE-NET” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BRANCHING OUT.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “digital greenery.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Even the squirrels are buffering.”
