SoHo Rats Take Over Art Galleries

According to reports, SoHo rats have stormed high-end galleries, chewing through canvases and leaving “avant-garde” droppings that critics are calling bold statements on consumerism. One art dealer listed a gnawed frame as “rat performance art” for $10,000.

Visitors claim the rodents are surprisingly tasteful, ignoring abstract paintings but devouring minimalist cheese sculptures. Some speculate the rats are represented by a mysterious rodent collective called “Chew York.”

TikTok’s #RatGallery shows influencers sipping wine while dodging tails. A viral video showed a rat dragging a half-eaten macaron across polished marble, with one critic applauding: “It’s about scarcity.”

Tabloids hissed. “CHEW YORK, CHEW YORK” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “RODENT RENAISSANCE.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “artistic disruption.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Maybe Banksy is just a rat.”
