Bronx Zoo Monkeys Escape with Hot Dogs

Bun run

According to reports, Bronx Zoo monkeys staged a daring escape to steal hot dogs from a nearby cart. Witnesses say the primates worked in teams, with one distracting tourists while another grabbed mustard packets.

Vendors described the chaos: “They didn’t pay, but they tipped in peanuts.” The monkeys allegedly returned to the zoo on their own after finishing the buns, leaving ketchup stains on the monorail seats.

TikTok’s #MonkeyDogs trend shows footage of monkeys chugging sodas while sitting on turnstiles. One viral video showed a baboon grilling stolen sausages in the reptile house.

Tabloids howled. “BUN BELIEVABLE” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “HOT DOG HEIST.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “animal entrepreneurship.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Only in the Bronx.”
