From rats to startups
Queens just got the ultimate hybrid work perk. According to reports, an unused subway platform has been transformed into a co-working hub. Yes, you can now pitch a startup while rats heckle your PowerPoint.
Members enjoy high-speed WiFi, artisanal cold brew, and a DJ booth blasting lo-fi beats over train delays. Desks are recycled MetroCard kiosks, and conference rooms are repurposed MTA bathrooms (please dont ask about the smell).
“I closed my seed round while the 7 train roared by,” bragged a founder in Williamsburg. Another said his best idea came while dodging a dripping ceiling pipe. Productivity is high, though the constant “Stand clear of the closing doors” voice has become everyones Slack notification sound.
TikTok is full of #SubwayStartups clips. One viral video shows a VC tripping over a sleeping commuter during a pitch meeting. He still funded it.
Tabloids hustled. “WORKING UNDERGROUND” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “SERIES A TRAIN.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “innovation in transit synergy.” Governor Hochul sighed, “At least someones using the platform.”
