Nap and swipe
According to reports, the MTA has installed sleep pods in stations at $1 per minute. Commuters can now nap in futuristic capsules that smell faintly of MetroCard dust and old pizza.
One Wall Street intern said, “I lived in Pod 6 for three days.” Another rider woke up mid-snore to find a mariachi band playing next door.
TikToks #SubwayNap trend shows exhausted New Yorkers dozing while tourists film them. A viral clip captured a rat pressing the pod button like it had a reservation.
Tabloids yawned. “NAP-TROCARD” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “REST AND THE CITY.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “restful innovation.” Governor Hochul muttered, “At least theyre not sleeping on benches.”
