Central Park Horses Demand PTO

Neigh means no

According to reports, Central Park carriage horses have staged a protest, demanding paid time off, organic oats, and hoof massages. The “Neigh Means No” movement blocked the park loop yesterday, with signs reading “Hay Now, Fair Pay” and “Gallop Out of Exploitation.”

Tourists were stranded mid-ride. One groom explained, “My horse union rep said I shouldn’t move unless there’s PTO.” Animal-rights activists joined in, though the horses insisted this was “labor, not liberation.”

TikTok’s #HorseStrike galloped: influencers braiding protest ribbons in manes, pranksters riding inflatable unicorns in solidarity, and a viral clip of a horse refusing to move until given a cold brew. Even pigeons joined the picket line, stealing protest signs.

Tabloids whinnied. The Post neighed: “HOOF IT, BOSSES.” The Daily News countered: “HORSES HOLD OUT.”

Mayor Adams said: “If rats can unionize, why not horses?” Governor Hochul muttered: “If Albany tries this, I’m banning oat subsidies.”
