Fight breaks out over bagel supremacy
Its official: Brooklyn has declared war on Manhattan. According to reports, the battle erupted after a heated debate over which borough has the superior bagel. Negotiations at a neutral Dunkin collapsed when Brooklyn delegates accused Manhattan of “cultural theft” for claiming the sesame bagel as their own.
The conflict escalated quickly. Brooklyn militias armed with cold brew marched across the Williamsburg Bridge, while Manhattan defenders fortified their positions with overpriced salads and sarcasm. “This is about more than bagels,” one Brooklyn general (wearing a vintage Mets cap) declared. “Its about authenticity, artisanal cream cheese, and whether anyone still respects lox.”
Skirmishes broke out in Union Square, where rival food carts staged a mustard-throwing contest. Midtown became a battleground of brunch, with avocado toast casualties littering the sidewalks. Reports suggest Brooklyn even launched an aerial assault using drones delivering oat milk bombs.
The cultural propaganda war is equally fierce. Brooklynites broadcast TikToks boasting of $1 pizza slices, while Manhattanites countered with skyline shots captioned “We Made You.” Tabloids reveled in the chaos: “BAGEL BRAWL” screamed the Post, while the Daily News wrote, “SESAME STREET FIGHT.”
New Jersey attempted to mediate but was laughed out of the room. Queens declared neutrality, offering safe passage to refugees who prefer dollar dumplings. The Bronx, meanwhile, is rumored to be selling arms to both sides in the form of Yankee tickets.
Tourists remain confused. “I just wanted to see the Statue of Liberty,” one Kansas visitor sobbed while being force-fed everything bagels. Economists warn the war could devastate the citys food scene. “If bagel production collapses, New York is doomed,” one analyst said. “Well be forced to import fromGod forbidConnecticut.”
Mayor Adams called for peace, suggesting all boroughs unite under a single carb treaty. But neither side seems ready to surrender. As one Brooklynite put it: “We survived gentrification, artisanal mayonnaise, and beard oil shortages. Were not losing to Manhattan.”
