Freedom on tap
According to reports, the Statue of Liberty has opened a rooftop bar in her crown, offering cocktails like the “Torch-tini” and “Immigrant IPA.” Tourists can now sip drinks while enjoying a panoramic view, though locals complain cover charges rival SoHo clubs.
The bar features neon signage flashing “Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Thirsty.” DJs spin EDM remixes of patriotic songs while bartenders wear tiny replicas of the statues crown. One influencer called it “Brooklyn rooftop vibes but floating.” A tourist from Ohio declared: “Finally, freedom tastes like overpriced margaritas.”
TikToks #LibertyBar trend is overflowing: viral clips of bridesmaids spilling cosmos on tourists, bartenders juggling flaming torches, and influencers posing in the torch with Aperol spritzes. Rumors swirl of celebrity appearances, including Jay-Z ordering “99 Problems but a Drink Aint One.”
Tabloids raised their glasses. The Post toasted: “LADY LIBERTINI.” The Daily News countered: “BARS AND STRIPES.”
Mayor Adams called it “economic patriotism.” Governor Hochul muttered: “If Albany tries this, Im banning rooftop torches.”
