Brooklyn Hipsters Start Candlelit Subway Rides

Underground romance

According to reports, Brooklyn hipsters have launched candlelit subway rides, turning the L train into what they call “a moving speakeasy of vibes.” Participants bring mason jar lanterns, kombucha cocktails, and ukuleles, creating what commuters describe as “romantic but fire-hazard adjacent.”

One organizer said, “The flickering light really compliments graffiti.” Critics argue the smoke alarm system is not designed for artisanal beeswax experiments underground.

TikTok’s #SubwayDate trend shows couples sipping oat milk martinis between stops. A viral clip showed a man proposing while his scented soy candle dripped wax onto a stranger’s Crocs.

Tabloids smoldered. “L TRAIN LOVEFEST” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “ROMANCE ON THE THIRD RAIL.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “transportational passion.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If someone lights incense, I’m shutting it down.”
