Bronx Zoo Hosts Speed Dating for Pandas

Love at first bamboo

According to reports, the Bronx Zoo has started panda speed-dating nights to boost breeding. Each date lasts five minutes—enough for pandas to awkwardly munch bamboo and stare blankly.

Zookeepers play Marvin Gaye over loudspeakers, but most pandas prefer napping. One panda swiped left by rolling away mid-date, causing keepers to consider offering cocktails.

TikTok’s #PandaLove trend features visitors live-streaming the clumsy romances. One viral clip shows two pandas fighting over the last bamboo stalk like it was the last MetroCard.

Tabloids pounced. “BAMBOOZLED LOVE” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “SLOW DATING.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “zoological community building.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Even pandas won’t date in this economy.”
