Casual crash
According to reports, Wall Street traders are abandoning their iconic suits for hoodies, declaring the “death of the power tie.” Inspired by tech bros, brokers now shout “buy” and “sell” while wearing Supreme hoodies and limited-edition sneakers. One banker bragged, “My hoodie cost more than my old Armani suit.”
Trading floors look more like SoHo streetwear shops than financial centers. “I cant tell if someones shorting stocks or dropping a new sneaker collab,” said one confused intern. Critics argue it undermines professionalism, but traders insist comfort boosts performance. “I lost $3 million today, but at least I was cozy,” said one broker.
TikToks #HoodieStreet trend shows brokers doing choreographed dances between trades. A viral clip captured a trader dabbing after crashing a hedge fund.
Tabloids zipped it. “HOODIE STREET” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “DRESS DOWN DOW.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “fashion-forward finance.” Governor Hochul muttered, “If a hoodie trader gets more respect than me, Im banning fleece.”
