Astoria Residents Build Rooftop Chicken Coops

Eggs with skyline views

According to reports, Astoria hipsters have turned their rooftops into chicken farms. Fresh eggs now come with panoramic views of Manhattan and the soothing soundtrack of squawking hens competing with N train screeches.

“My chickens are cage-free and Instagram-ready,” bragged one resident, stroking a hen named Beyoncé. Neighbors complain about feathers in their cold brew, but admit the omelets are unbeatable.

TikTok’s #SkylineEggs trend features influencers juggling eggs against sunset backdrops. One viral clip shows a chicken photobombing an engagement shoot by laying an egg mid-proposal.

Tabloids crowed. “CLUCKING CRAZY” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “EGGS OVER QUEENS.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “vertical farming innovation.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Next they’ll want chickens on the subway.”
