Times Square Characters Form Union

Mickey wants benefits

According to reports, Times Square’s costumed characters have formed a union to demand better working conditions, fair tipping practices, and the right to launder their costumes more than once a month. Mickey, Elmo, and Spider-Man marched together, terrifying tourists and confusing children.

Union leaders say they are tired of being groped for selfies and tipped in Canadian coins. Their demands include dental care for mascots and a “cape cleaning fund.”

TikTok’s #MascotStrike trend shows videos of characters storming Broadway with inflatable fists. One viral clip captured Elmo screaming, “PAY ME IN DOLLARS!” before being tackled by Batman.

Tabloids suited up. “COSTUME COUP” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “MASCOTS MOBILIZE.”

Mayor Adams praised it as “theatrical solidarity.” Governor Hochul muttered, “I don’t negotiate with furries.”
