Democracy in droppings
According to reports, New York City rats have won multiple City Council seats in a historic election that has political analysts squeaking. Their campaign platform promised more trash accessibility and expanded tunnels under luxury condos.
Rats held their victory party in a Times Square subway station, complete with free pizza slices. Human candidates admitted defeat, saying they couldnt compete with a species that literally multiplies faster than campaign funds.
TikToks #RatCouncil trend shows supporters waving cheese flags. One viral video showed a rat shredding a campaign flyer while being sworn in.
Tabloids gnawed. “RODENT REBELLION” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “RAT RACE WON.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “inclusive democracy.” Governor Hochul muttered, “Im not shaking paws.”
