According to reports, dog parks across New York have installed pup-friendly Wi-Fi so dogs can “connect digitally while socializing physically.” Owners claim their pets now swipe on Barkr, a canine dating app, while fetching tennis balls.
“My pug just ghosted a labradoodle,” complained one Park Slope resident. Tech startups are already selling wearable paw-phones so dogs can live-stream their walks. Meanwhile, squirrels complain theyre being cyber-bullied.
TikToks #WiFido trend shows dogs scrolling iPads with their noses. One viral clip: a beagle accidentally ordered $400 in rawhide bones on Amazon.
Tabloids howled. “PAWS ONLINE” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “BARK TO THE FUTURE.”
Mayor Adams praised it as “digital inclusion for pets.” Governor Hochul muttered, “I draw the line at cats on LinkedIn.”
