Wall Street Interns Revolt

Demand chairs and actual food

Chaos on Wall Street: reports confirm that unpaid interns have staged a revolt, demanding chairs, edible meals, and an end to “mandatory 22-hour workdays.”

“We were promised networking, not herniated discs,” said one intern, clutching a broken stapler like a weapon. Protesters barricaded Goldman Sachs with ergonomic chair catalogs, while chanting slogans like “No Pay, No Play.”

Executives are rattled. “If interns stop fetching coffee, who will?” asked one banker in distress. Catering staff revealed interns survive mainly on half-eaten sushi left from board meetings. One revolt leader declared: “We want bread—literally, bread. Not exposure.”

Tabloids cashed in. “CHAIR WARS” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered: “INTERN-AL UPRISING.” Social media exploded with memes of interns storming Wall Street with staplers. TikTok launched #InternRevolt, showing users parodying Goldman execs crying over lukewarm lattes.

Mayor Adams promised to mediate by offering interns city-issued bagels, while Governor Hochul suggested internships be renamed “voluntary indentured servitude.” Wall Street leaders fear productivity collapse, as interns are responsible for 80% of PowerPoint slides and 100% of fake enthusiasm.

For now, the revolt simmers. As one intern scrawled on a bathroom wall: “We don’t want exposure. We want lunch.”
