Statue of Liberty Adds LED Selfie Ring

America’s torch gets influencer upgrade

The Statue of Liberty just got a glow-up. According to reports, Lady Liberty is now equipped with a massive LED selfie ring so tourists can capture their patriotic pouts with perfect lighting. The feature comes with three settings: “Freedom Glow,” “Immigrant Chic,” and “TikTok Ready.”

“Finally, I can look as radiant as democracy itself,” said one influencer livestreaming from the crown. The selfies went viral immediately, sparking hashtags like #LadyLit and #TorchTok. Even pigeons have been caught striking poses in the upgraded light.

Locals are unimpressed. “First it was Starbucks in Ellis Island, now it’s this?” complained one Staten Island ferry worker. Others shrugged, noting that at least tourists would spend less time blocking subway turnstiles if they were busy editing selfies.

Tabloids lit up. “LADY LIBS, LADY LIKES” screamed the Post. The Daily News countered with “GIVE US YOUR TIRED… RING LIGHTS.”

Mayor Adams praised the installation, saying, “It’s peak brand synergy: history plus hashtags.” Governor Hochul promised to review electric bills, warning taxpayers may now be footing Liberty’s influencer lifestyle.

For now, America’s beacon of freedom doubles as the city’s hottest photo booth.
