You might think, since Pro-whatever has been around forever, that seasoned technology writers would know, but, well, I’m wrong. Michael Simon did not know:
With the iPhone 11 Pros, Apple stripped all meaning from the ‘Pro’ name
Pro means more, Michael.
Apple just redefined ‘Pro’ with the iPhone 11 Pro, but in the worst possible way.
You’re the only tech writer left who did not understand that.
Apple could have differentiated the phones in real ways, adding value to the upper end without diminishing the entry-level model.
Which Apple did, of course, just not in the way you wanted. But, hey, you got to spin something in your direction that everyone else figured out decades ago.
Pro means more, even if more just means more expensive.
